CANDLE CARE

Give your candle the longevity it deserves.

Believe it or not soy wax has a memory, so the first burn is the most important one.  If you only burn your candle briefly that small wax pool is how your candle will continue to burn every time you relight it.  This is called tunneling.  So plan on a night in and burn your new candle until an appropriate wax pool has formed.  If you’re burning a container candle an appropriate wax pool would be the entire top of the candle right to the container.  If your burning a pillar an appropriate wax pool would be the majority of the top of the candle, about one hour for every inch of diameter.  Four inches of diameter, it’s double movie night, four hours of burning!  Bust out the popcorn!

  • Before lighting your new candle, trim the wick.  ¼ inch is all it takes.  And then trim that wick before you relight every time.

TAKE CARE

Don’t be careless.  It’s an open flame after all.

  • Don’t leave your candle unattended.  Keep burning candles away from children and pets.

  • Never place your candle beside, below or on top of anything flammable or never place anything flammable beside, below or on top of your candle.  Either way, just don’t do it.

  • Always use a heat proof container that has been specifically designed for candle use that can catch all drips and the odd run.

  • Always burn your candles on a sturdy level surface.

  • Stop burning your candle when there is ½ inch of wax left in the bottom of the container, to much heat can crack the container.

  • Keep your candle out of the sun, soy wax will melt.

  • Store away from heat but keep at room temperature.
